Warhammer Survivors Beginner Guide

Start Warhammer Survivors right: what the current demo teaches, how paint pots work, and the run habits that carry into the November 10 launch.

🚧 Demo-era build: Warhammer Survivors launches November 10, 2026. A demo is playable now on Steam and Xbox PC β€” pages are seeded from demo-era sources and completed at launch.

Play the demo now

The demo is on Steam and Xbox PC (since October 6) with the Legend of Catachan and Lyssa Revenya playable. Demo runs are the fastest way to learn the loop before launch β€” and they feed the community data behind our tier list.

Paint pots

Paint pots are the game’s collectible: they unlock character forms and secrets. Collecting them is part of the long-term progression, not a side detour β€” treat any pot route you learn in the demo as launch-relevant knowledge.

Survivors-genre basics that apply here

As in the whole genre: keep moving, let auto-fire do the aiming, and choose upgrades that stack with your weapon instead of against it. Warhammer Survivors adds its own layer on top β€” weapons combine with power-ups and evolve into new forms β€” so plan your combo before it locks in. See weapon evolutions.

Know what you are walking into

Every hands-on preview flagged the same thing: the early difficulty is harsh (PC Gamer, after 10 hours) and openings can feel slow (IGN). Rescue objectives, which require pushing into dangerous ground, were called frustrating by G2A. Budget a few failed runs before the loop clicks β€” that is the intended shape, not you playing badly.
