Warhammer Survivors Evolutions: 40K vs Age of Sigmar

Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar do not share a run. Each has its own evolution list. A few weapons exist in both, and the October demo adds a slight cross-universe effect to meta-progression only.

🚧 Demo-era build: Warhammer Survivors launches November 10, 2026. A demo is playable now on Steam and Xbox PC β€” pages are seeded from demo-era sources and completed at launch.

The official split

Auroch Digital’s 11 November 2025 FAQ post says each universe has its own roster, weapons, enemies, stages and progression, with some shared weapons. Characters from the two settings do not fight together. The 19 October 2026 demo update adds a slight cross-universe effect to meta-progression. That is account-level. It is not permission to take a 40K weapon and an Age of Sigmar passive in the same run. How large the shared meta-progression is remains confirm at launch / TBD beyond the word β€œslight.”

Demo pairings by universe

The rows are community and datamine, same as the weapon evolutions table. They are split here so a search for one setting does not pick up the other.

Names that appear twice are still not one build

whsurvivors.wiki flags three companions that show up in two reported recipes: Dice Cube, Liquid Green Stuff, and the Nuln Oil pairing itself. Dice Cube is next to the Boltgun in the 40K report and next to the Boltstorm Pistol in the Age of Sigmar report. Liquid Green Stuff is next to Whirlwind Battery in one list and the Brazier Staff in the other. Those are parallel rows. They are not a same-run combination, because the modes do not share a battlefield.

Nuln Oil is the exception that is actually shared. Developer posts describe it as a cross-universe weapon: it douses enemies and applies Oiled, which makes fire hurt more. The Hourglass pairing that reportedly turns it into Mordant Earth is still community / datamine, and it is simply listed once for each mode. The D6 Dice is the other cross-universe weapon in those posts: large dice fly in and explode based on the roll. It is not the Dice Cube passive. Do not merge the two names.

Followers stay inside the mode you picked

The squad system recruits allies with weapons and Keywords. Official examples are same-setting pairs: Bastian Carthalos with Lorai in Age of Sigmar, and the Castellan with Trooper Kozlowski in Warhammer 40,000. Evolving the Fyrestorm Greataxe calls Gotrek. Evolving the Power Fists calls Marneus Calgar. Neither post puts those summons in the other universe. Keyword rules are on the squad system page.

Demo champions follow the same split. 40K: Malum Caedo, Trooper Kozlowski, the Legend of Catachan. Age of Sigmar: Neave Blacktalon, Ulgromthier, Lyssa Revenya. Some must be unlocked in the demo. The full 40+ roster is a launch figure, not this table.
